  • WHAT IS THE EXPECTED WATER TEMPERATUR IN JULY?

On average the water is between 16-20 degrees celsius in July.

  • IF IT IS VERY COLD ON RACEDAY MORNING, CAN THE ATHLETES WEAR EXTRA CLOTHING TO STAY WARM?

    Arms
In middle and long distance events arms can be covered.
In standard or shorter distance, arms must not be covered, except in extreme weather conditions, where this decision will rest with the Technical delegate at the race
-Athletes are allowed to wear uniforms with sleeves extending from the shoulder up to but not covering the elbow except super-sprint, sprint and standard distance triathlon.

    Jackets and Rain Jackets
Rain jackets are allowed for middle and long distance events or when the Technical Delegate authorises it. Rain jackets must be the same design and colour as the uniform or transparent

If in any doubt or for more specific consultations we recommend to find relevant information in the 2018 ITU Competition Rules Section 2.8.
For any final Technical Delegate decisions we strongly advise to attend the pre-race briefing at each event

Please not that for Elite, U23, Junior, Youth and Paratriathlon athletes certain rules regarding uniforms may vary from Age Group athlete rules

  • WHAT SIDE SHOULD THE BUOYS BE ON RELATIVE TO THE ATHLETES?

    Information comming.

  • WHAT TYPE OF WATER IS TO BE EXPECTED (CHOPPY, CALM, FAST CURRENT, ETC.)?

The water conditions really depend on the weather. Athletes should be prepared to swim in a variety of conditions. On a perfectly calm day the lake is flat and still, however it is not uncommon for the wind to pick up and cause for choppy water.

  • IF THE SWIM IS NON-WETSUIT WILL I BE ALLOWED TO WEAR A SPEEDSUIT?

Athletes must wear an ITU approved Trisuit for the non-wetsuit swims which complies with the applicable guidelines regarding authorized identifications.
If athletes choose to wear more than one Trisuit, both have to comply with specifications noted on ITU Rules and Regulations

Swimskins may be removed after the swim segment, except in the standard distance and shorter events. Swimskins must follow the ITU aproved regulations similar to Trisuits and comply with the Wetsuit section of the applicable guidelines regarding Authorized Identifications for middle and long distance events.

Complete Information on allowed Swim equipment can be found on ITU Rules and Regulations § 4.10 Swimming>Equipment (pages 30-32)

  • WILL I BE ALLOWED TO USE A WETSUIT? WHAT ARE THE REGULATIONS?

Water temperature in Fyn during the month of July is not very high, and we can expect water temperature to be below 22° celcius, but this can change depending on the weather.
Wetsuit rulings will be based on water temperatures taken 1 hour before the start of the event.
