Athletes competing in the Aquathlon are looking forward to a swim in the magnificent waters of Little Belt where the spectators will have excellent opportunities to follow the athletes at closely from the beautiful Middelfart Marina. The athletes will exit the water and run to the transition zone before getting out of swim suit and swim cap and start running out on the very spectator friendly running course.
The run is finished with the athletes running back towards Middelfart Marina and the central venue of Aquathlon and the runners can look forward to crossing the finish line in the middle of the world championships festival atmosphere.

Run Course Profile:
Elite + Junior + Para + Age Group + Open Race: 1km / 1 lap
The start and exit area will be located at Middelfart Marina. The swim course for the aquathlon will be a 1km marked route where athletes will experience a beach start on the left side of the Marina. The first buoy-turn will be located straight ahead approx 450m where athletes will turn right (clockwise), make a second right tun and swim back towards the exit on a ramp located inside the Marina area. There will be a short run up to the transition area where athletes will change and head out onto the 1 lap, 5 km course. The water conditions are fairly calm but athletes can be subject to some current and small waves depending on the wind. The water quality is good and clear and expected temperatures can range between 17 and 22 degrees.
Elite + Junior + Para + Age Group + Open Race: 5km / 1 lap
You will head out of transition area onto the 1 lap, 5km run course which will be completed clockwise. Athletes will be running only on asphalt and on a flat course with a total elevation of 13 meters. After the initial 2.7km, athletes will pass nearby the finish line area and head on a shorter loop/section of the course. Finish line is located back into Middelfart Marina.
